Terms used in the parking regulations have the following meaning:

1.A transport vehicle is a motor vehicle or a combination of vehicles; a driver of which is not a pedestrian according to the parking regulations;
2. A taxi is a car with an appropriate notifying sign used for a multiple carriage of passengers but designated activity of which does not represent a regular transportation;
3.Parking is the intentional act of stopping a vehicle other than by reason of passenger mount/dismount, loading and unloading of a vehicle;
4. Parking lot is the area intended for

Public parking lot is a parking area available for parking of vehicles not provided with special parking area if in the parking area at a particular site or territory, where public parking lot is located, entry, movement, parking or stopping of a particular type of a vehicle is not prohibited in general;
6. Special parking lot is a parking area designed for parking of the vehicles grouped in accordance with the service sector or other features in compliance with parking regulations;
7. Public space is a street, a square, a park, a garden, natural and artificial landscape, a passage between the land plots or other similar space within developed land available for people when driving a vehicle;
8. A road is a strip of land developed for the participants of road traffic or surface of an artificial structure which includes one or several traffic ways (streets), sidewalks, curbs and lane markers if any exist, designed for car traffic;
9. A street is an element of the road, a part of public space, designed for car traffic within the developed land;
10. A sidewalk is an element of the road, designed for pedestrian traffic and adjacent to the traffic way or separated from it by a lawn;
11. Road traffic is a relationship during the movement of people and goods using vehicle or without it within the roads;
12.A participant of a road traffic is a person directly involved in the process of traffic, such as a driver, a passenger or a pedestrian;
13. A pedestrian is a person located on the road but outside the vehicle or not conducting the works on the road. A person is considered as a pedestrian when moving around in a wheelchair without a motor, driving a bicycle, a moped, a motorcycle, carrying a sled, a cart, a baby carriage or a wheelchair;
14. A construction site is the area determined for construction and needed for the implementation and maintenance of construction works;
15. Special secured parking lot is an impound lot where vehicles are towed to in cases provided for the parking regulations.

 

Parking signs:

In the place of payment requiring parking , parking signs are fixed. In these places , Informational boards are placed under the parking signs , which are giving information concerning parking methods.

There are the following methods of parking:

It shows the parking methods for cars in the parking places near the pavement

"no parking" "no stopping or standing"

In case there are signs “no parking or “no stopping or parking": stopping and parking of the car on the side of the road as well as on the pavement is prohibited, otherwise it will be carried away on the protected parking place.

Warning: In case of breaking the rules of parking vehicles will be fined and carried away on special protected parking place. Pay attention to the parking methods in order not to break them!

 You can find information about parking tickets on the website of the Agency;

 In case of a parking ticket loss (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) you can get a copy of it in the Agency;

 You can pay a parking ticket fee 10 (ten) GEL in any banking institution;

 A parking ticket (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) is delivered to the offender or an adult member of his family living with him at the specified address;

 A parking ticket payment (10 (ten)GEL) due date is equal to 30 days from the date of delivery of a parking ticket (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) according to the law regulations;

 If you find a parking ticket (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) during checking the website of the Agency you can get its copy in the corresponding service of the Agency or you can wait until a parking ticket is delivered to your registered address via post, in these conditions a parking ticket fee shall be paid within 30 days after delivery;

 All parking tickets (hard-copy records of administrative offence) are sent to the registered address of the owner of a vehicle;

 Forfeit penalty is imposed on the owner of a vehicle in cases if within payment due date established by law regulations (30 days) from the moment of delivery of a parking ticket (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) the parking fee of 10 (ten)GEL is unpaid;

 You can get information about delivery of a parking ticket (a hard-copy record of administrative offence) in the nonprofit legal entity “the Agency of transport infrastructure management” and in the central or regional offices of the Georgian Post;

 If the owner of a vehicle does not pay a parking ticket and forfeit penalty in size of 160 (a hundred and sixty) GEL within 30 (thirty) days from the moment the forfeit penalty was imposed, then upon the expiration of this date the Agency will issue an enforcement order and the case will be forwarded to the National Bureau of Enforcement for the purpose of enforcement.

Parking rate is determined by the Resolution # 4 of self-governing city of Batumi from February 28th 2013.

Pay the parking rate and park a vehicle on the territory of Batumi in any parking area within 24 hours.You can pay the parking rate in all bank branches or via online system and express payment machines.

The rates:

Passenger cars:
1 day parking is 1 GEL
7 day parking is 5 GEL
30 day parking is 10 GEL
182 day parking is 25 GEL
365 day parking is 40 GEL

Taxi parking:
10 day parking is 10 GEL
20 day parking is 20 GEL
30 day parking is 30 GEL

Special vehicles parking:
1 day parking is 3 GEL
30 day parking is 30 GEL
182 day parking is 150 GEL
365 day parking is 250 GEL

Parking fees can be paid to the treasury code - 740747499, Receiver: ------"Infrastructure Management Agency". You can pay at all commercial banks and their branches , you can pay also with online systems and quick payment machines. Paying for parking is necessary to enter the vehicle and the series number.



Fine shall be paid into the Protocol. A taxpayer must file the appropriate fines on the bank and number of the protocol to transfer the funds to the treasury code: 300693251. Set amount of 10 GEL. If a fine passed since last 30 days, the fine will be imposed on the taxpayer 150 GEL, which also should be paid the same public code.

1. According to Part 4of Article 1253 of the Code of administrative offences of Georgia a vehicle shall be issued a parking ticket for parking violation in cases if:

a) A vehicle stands in the public parking lot with parking fee unpaid;

b) A vehicle (a taxi) stands in the special parking area (for taxis) with parking fee unpaid.

2. According to Part 5of Article 1253 of the Code of administrative offences of Georgia a vehicle shall be issued a parking ticket for parking violation on the territory of Batumi for:

a) Parking a vehicle provided for the special parking area (for taxis) in the public parking lot;

b) Parking a vehicle not provided for the special parking area ( area or taxis and vehicles driven by the disabled) in the special parking lot;

c) Parking a vehicle with violation of certain parking regulations (90 or/and 45 degree angle parking, perpendicular parking);

d) Paring a vehicle in the public space (except for a street (a square)) including a sidewalk missing a notifying sign of parking and/or flagging sign;

e) Parking a vehicle in the area of a crosswalk;

f) Parking a vehicle on the bus stop;

g) If a vehicle blocks the traffic

3. According to Part 8 of Article 125 of the Code of administrative offences of Georgia a vehicle shall be issued a parking ticket for violation of other parking regulations in the following cases :

 For parking a vehicle in the area where parking and stopping are prohibited (operating area of “No parking” and “No stopping”).
